Gilee is a Southern California artist with a flair for creating photo realistic still life paintings. The subject matter she paints reflect the past to the present: from jewel encrusted goblets lit by flickering candles of yesteryear to the highly decorated kimonos of the geisha, as well as the beautiful contemporary objects of today.

She was born, raised and studied art in Southern California. Her paintings were first presented to the public in the early 1960’s. Showing in California, from Pebble Beach Gallery to Laguna Beach, San Diego. Out of The Haggenmaker Gallery in Laguna Beach, one of her paintings being chosen by the President of the United States of America, to hang in his inner office at the Western White House in San Clemente Ca. There being one of only two artists (A Whyth being the other artist.) She went on to captivated art enthusiasts in and out of the United States with her elegant realism and has been collected since that time

Part of her art career has included sharing her knowledge through teaching and giving lectures and demonstrations throughout out California. In addition to owing and operating a teaching art studio, enabling fellow artists to share their knowledge of the arts as well, to aspiring artists through the 1980’s.

The technique she uses employs rich colors and exacting detail, achieved by applying numerous layers of thin, transparent paint and glazes. And of course time, patience and love for art. Capturing the light and glow in each painting, bring movement, and elegance into every still life she creates.
